BKR 2Pročež i v tomto stánku vzdycháme, v příbytek náš, kterýž jest s nebe, oblečeni býti žádajíce, 3Jestliže však oblečení a ne nazí nalezeni budeme. 6Protož doufanlivé mysli vždycky jsouce, a vědouce, že dokudž pohostinu jsme v tomto těle, vzdáleni jsme ode Pána, 7(Nebo skrze víru chodíme, a ne skrze vidění tváři Páně,) 8Doufanlivéť pak mysli jsme, a oblibujeme raději vyjíti z těla a přijíti ku Pánu. 9Protož i usilujeme buď v těle pohostinu jsouce, buďto z těla se berouce, jemu se líbiti.

РСП (66 кн.) 2Оттого мы и воздыхаем, желая облечься в небесное наше жилище; 3только бы нам и одетым не оказаться нагими. 4Ибо мы, находясь в этой хижине, воздыхаем под бременем, потому что не хотим совлечься, но облечься, чтобы смертное поглощено было жизнью. 5На сие самое и создал нас Бог и дал нам залог Духа. 6Итак, мы всегда благодушествуем; и как знаем, что, водворяясь в теле, мы устранены от Господа, — 7ибо мы ходим верою, а не ви́дением, — 8то мы благодушествуем и желаем лучше выйти из тела и водвориться у Господа. 9И потому ревностно стараемся, водворяясь ли, выходя ли, быть Ему угодными;
РСП (юбил.) 2Оттого мы и вздыхаем, желая облечься в небесное наше жилище; 3только бы нам и одетыми не оказаться нагими. 4Ибо мы, находясь в этой хижине, вздыхаем под бременем, потому что не хотим совлечься, но облечься, чтобы смертное поглощено было жизнью. 5На это самое и создал нас Бог и дал нам залог Духа. 6Итак, мы всегда благодушествуем; и как знаем, что, водворяясь в теле, мы устранены от Господа, — 7ибо мы ходим верой, а не видением, — 8то мы благодушествуем и желаем лучше выйти из тела и водвориться у Господа. 9И потому ревностно стараемся, водворяясь ли, выходя ли, быть Ему угодными;

KJV (66 books) 2For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
AFINT (Exp US) 2For while we live in this present condition, we groan inwardly, earnestly longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3since when we are so clothed, we will not be found exposed or without covering. 4For while we remain in this earthly tent, we groan under its burden, not because we desire to be stripped of our present existence, but because we desire to be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be completely consumed by life. 5Now God Himself is the One who has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge and guarantee of what is to come. 6Therefore, we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord— 7for we conduct our lives by faith, not by what is seen— 8yet we are confident and would rather prefer to be away from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9For this reason, we make it our aim to please Him, whether we remain in the body or are away from it.
AFINT (Lit US) 2For indeed, in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling which is from heaven; 3since, in fact, once we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For indeed, while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not desire to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now the One who has prepared us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the first installment of the Spirit. 6Therefore, being always courageous, and knowing that while we are home in the body, we are away from the Lord— 7for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8so we are courageous and prefer rather to be away from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9Therefore, we also earnestly strive to be pleasing to Him, whether at home or away from home.
AFINT (Lit UK) 2For indeed, in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling which is from heaven; 3since, in fact, once we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For indeed, while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not desire to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now the One who has prepared us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the first instalment of the Spirit.
ASV 2For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven: 3if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 5Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord 7(for we walk by faith, not by sight); 8we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. 9Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.
BSB 2For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5And it is God who has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come. 6Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. 7For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we aspire to please Him, whether we are at home in this body or away from it.
DRA 2For in this also we groan, desiring to be clothed upon with our habitation that is from heaven. 3Yet so that we be found clothed, not naked. 4For we also, who are in this tabernacle, do groan, being burthened; because we would not be unclothed, but clothed upon, that that which is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now he that maketh us for this very thing, is God, who hath given us the pledge of the Spirit. 6Therefore having always confidence, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are absent from the Lord. 7(For we walk by faith, and not by sight.) 8But we are confident, and have a good will to be absent rather from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9And therefore we labour, whether absent or present, to please him.
EMTV 2For also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, inasmuch as we do not desire to be stripped, but to put on clothing, that that which is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now He who has prepared us for this very purpose is God, who also has given to us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6Therefore always being confident, and knowing that while we are in the body, we are away from home from the Lord 7(for we walk by faith, not by sight), 8but we are confident and prefer rather to be away from home from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. 9Therefore also we have as our ambition, whether being at home, or being away from home, to be well pleasing to Him.
FBV 2We sigh with longing for this, wanting so badly to be clothed with this new heavenly home. 3When we put on this clothing we won't be seen naked. 4While we are in this “tent” we sigh, being weighed down by this life. It's not so much that we want to take off the clothing of this life but that we look forward to what we shall be clothed with, so that what is mortal may be overwhelmed by life. 5It's God himself who prepared us for all this, and who provided the Spirit as a guarantee to us. 6So we remain confident, knowing that while we are at home here in our physical bodies, we are away from the Lord. 7(For we live by trusting in God, not by seeing him.) 8As I say, we are confident, wanting to be away from the body so we can be at home with the Lord. 9That's why our goal, whether home here in our bodies or not, is to make sure we please him.
GNV 2For therefore we sighe, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from heauen. 3Because that if we be clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4For in deede we that are in this tabernacle, sigh and are burdened, because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpon, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of life. 5And he that hath created vs for this thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the Spirit. 6Therefore we are alway bolde, though we knowe that whiles we are at home in the bodie, we are absent from the Lord. 7(For we walke by faith, and not by sight.) 8Neuerthelesse, we are bolde, and loue rather to remoue out of the body, and to dwell with the Lord. 9Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him.
LSV 2for also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves with our dwelling that is from Heaven, 3if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked, 4for we also who are in the tent groan, being burdened, seeing we do not wish to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of life. 5And He who worked us to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit; 6having courage, then, at all times, and knowing that being at home in the body, we are away from home from the LORD— 7for we walk through faith, not through sight— 8we have courage, and are well pleased, rather, to be away from the home of the body, and to be at home with the LORD. 9We are also ambitious for this reason, whether at home or away from home, to be well pleasing to Him,
NASB 2For indeed, in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, 3since in fact after putting it on, we will not be found naked. 4For indeed, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a pledge. 6Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8but we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. NASB 2020
NIV (US) 2Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7For we live by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
NMV 2For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4For we that are in [this] tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5Now he that has wrought us for the selfsame thing [is] God-The Father, who also has given unto us the earnest of the Spirit [Ruach]. 6Therefore [we are] always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord - Kurios: 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord - Kurios. 9For what reason we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
OJB 2For indeed in this mishkaneinu we groan, longing for the train of our robe to be our sukkah from Shomayim. 3If indeed thus clothed we will not be found naked. 4For while we are still in this mishkan, we groan under our burden, in as much as we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, that the mortal may be swallowed up by Chayyim. 5Now the One having prepared us for this very thing is Hashem, the One having given us the eravon (pledge) of the Ruach Hakodesh. 6Therefore we always have bitachon since we have da'as that being at home in the basar, we are away from home in Adoneinu. 7For we walk by emunah (faith), not by sight; 8Therefore we have bitachon and are pleased rather to leave home from the basar and to be at home with Adoneinu. 9Therefore, also we are aspiring, whether at home, or away from home, to be well pleasing to Hashem,
TCENT 2For in this tent we groan, longing to be further clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now he who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has also given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6Therefore we have courage at all times, and we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8Yes, we have courage and would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we aspire to be pleasing to him.
T4T 2While we are here on earth, we suffer. We often groan because we desire to go to heaven where God will give us our new bodies [MET]. 3When God gives us(inc) our new bodies [MET], our spirits will have [LIT, MET] bodies to live in that will last forever. 4It is true that while we are still living in these bodies [MET] that do not last forever, we often groan [DOU] because we desire to be free from them. We are not longing to be without a body. Instead, we groan because we desire to receive our new bodies [MET] in heaven. We long for this to happen so that these bodies that are going to die some day will suddenly be changed into bodies that will live forever. 5It is God himself who has prepared us to receive these new bodies. He is also the one who has guaranteed/assured us (inc) that this will happen. He has guaranteed it by sending his Spirit to live inside us now. 6So, because God’s Spirit lives in us, we are always confident that God will give us new bodies. We know that as long as we have bodies here on earth, we are not yet living together with the Lord Jesus in heaven. 7While we (exc) live here, we do not have our new bodies, but we are trusting that God will give them to us. 8As I said, we (exc) are confident that he will give us new bodies. We (exc) would much prefer to leave these bodies which we have now, and be with the Lord Jesus in our home in heaven. 9Because of all that, we always want to please Jesus in everything that we do. Whether we (exc) are still living here in these bodies or whether we have left them and are living in our home in heaven, we want to please him.
WEB (US) 2For most certainly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3if indeed being clothed, we will not be found naked. 4For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened, not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. 6Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; 7for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him.
