Když pak usnul, Dalila vzala sedm copů na jeho hlavě, vpletla je do osnovy16:14 podle LXX (v MT ve v. 13–14 chybí utáhla kolíkem … do osnovy) a utáhla kolíkem. Vtom na něj zavolala: „Samsone, Filištíni jdou na tebe!“ Probudil se ze spánku a vytrhl kolík i se stavem a osnovou.
