Boží slovo však platit nepřestalo: Izraelci nejsou všichni, kdo odvozují svůj rodokmen od Abrahama nebo Jákoba – Izraele. I když jsou to potomci Abrahamovi, měl Bůh na mysli pouze Izáka, když Sáře sliboval syna. To znamená, že ne všichni z Abrahama jsou Božími dětmi, ale jenom ti, kteří se narodili na základě Božího slibu.
