— Господи, разреши мне прежде пойти и похоронить отца моего.8:21 В первом веке существовал погребальный обычай, по которому тело усопшего на год помещали в пещеру. После этого времени, когда от тела ничего кроме костей не оставалось, их убирали и хоронили в урне. Этот стих может также быть переведен как: «Господи, разреши остаться со своим отцом, чтобы, когда он умрет, я смог похоронить его».
