KJV (66 books) 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
AFINT (Exp US) 17So I declare this and solemnly affirm it in the Lord: You must no longer live as the Gentiles live, in the emptiness of their reasoning, 18having their understanding darkened, being separated from the life of God because of the ignorance within them, which stems from the hardness of their hearts.
AFINT (Lit US) 17Therefore, I say this and bear witness in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their thinking, 18darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their heart,
ASV 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;
BSB 17So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
DRA 17This then I say and testify in the Lord: That henceforward you walk not as also the Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind, 18Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts.
EMTV 17This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18having been darkened in understanding, being estranged from the life of God, because of the ignorance which is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
FBV 17So let me say this to you—in fact I insist on it in the Lord—that you should no longer live like the foreigners do, in their empty-headed way. 18In the darkness of their minds they don't understand, and they have been cut off from the life of God because they don't know anything and in their stubbornness they don't want to know.
GNV 17This I say therefore and testifie in the Lord, that yee hencefoorth walke not as other Gentiles walke, in vanitie of their minde, 18Hauing their vnderstanding darkened, and being strangers from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardnesse of their heart:
LSV 17This, then, I say, and I testify in the LORD: yöu are no longer to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,
MSB 17So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the other Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
NASB 17So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds, 18being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; NASB 2020
NIV (US) 17So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
NMV 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord - Kurios, that you2f from this time forth (from now on) walk not as other Goyim [Gentiles] walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God-The Father through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
OJB 17This therefore I say and give solemn edut in Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Adoneinu: no longer are you to fier zich (comport oneself) in your derech as also the Goyim walk, in the futility of their machshavot (thoughts), 18Their binah (understanding) being in choshech, having been alienated from the life of Hashem because of the ignorance existing in them, because of the KESHI (stubbornness, hardness) of their levavot,
TCENT 17Therefore, I solemnly declare in the Lord that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18They are darkened in their understanding, being excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
T4T 17The Lord Jesus has authorized me to strongly tell you that you must no longer conduct your lives like unbelievers do. The futile/worthless way in which they think [MET] controls how they conduct their lives. 18They are unable to think clearly [MET] about what is right and what is wrong. Because they have decided that they do not want to know about God and because they stubbornly [IDM] refuse to listen to his message, they do not have the eternal life that God gives us.
WEB (US) 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, 18being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
