Those sacrifices were in order that Yahweh would no longer be angry with the people of Israel for having sinned. Those men also did other work in the Very Holy Place in the sacred tent, obeying the instructions that Moses, who served God well, had given to them.

RV1909 Mas Aarón y sus hijos ofrecían perfume sobre el altar del holocausto, y sobre el altar del perfume, en toda la obra del lugar santísimo, y para hacer las expiaciones sobre Israel, conforme á todo lo que Moisés siervo de Dios había mandado.

NBV Pero solamente Aarón y sus descendientes eran sacerdotes. Sus deberes, entre otros, consistían en presentar holocaustos, quemar ofrendas e incienso, y realizar todas las tareas relacionadas con el santuario interior —el Lugar Santísimo— y las tareas relacionadas con el día anual de expiación para Israel.
