Porque não é a circuncisão que nos torna filhos de Deus. Nós adoramos a Deus por meio do seu Espírito. Essa é a única circuncisão verdadeira. Nós nos gloriamos naquilo que Cristo Jesus fez por nós e compreendemos que não temos confiança alguma na carne.

Eles pensam que são o povo de Deus porque alguém circuncidou eles. Mas nós, e não eles, somos o povo de Deus, quer que alguém nos tenha circuncidado, quer não. O Espírito de Deus nos ajuda a adorar a Deus; louvamos a Cristo Jesus porque ele fez com que nos tornássemos o povo de Deus. Nós não pensamos que Deus nos considere/faça seu povo como resultado daquilo que alguém faz aos nossos corpos.
