BKR Ale vidím jiný zákon v údech svých, odporující zákonu mysli mé a jímající mne, tak abych byl vězeň zákona hřícha, kterýž jest v údech mých.

SNC [7:18–23] Ukazuje to, že uvnitř jsme ovládáni zákonem zla, který i naše nejlepší úmysly dovede převrátit ve špatné jednání. Na jedné straně tedy rozumem chceme sloužit Bohu a dobru, na druhé straně neustále podléháme zlu.
