AFINT (Exp US) God publicly set forth Christ Jesus as a propitiation—a sacrifice that satisfies God’s wrath and turns away His righteous anger against sin—effective through His shed blood, to be appropriated through faith. God did this to demonstrate His own righteousness and justice, because in His patient forbearance during past ages, He had passed over sins previously committed without immediate full punishment.

AFINT (Lit US) whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received through faith. This was for the demonstration of His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God, He passed over the sins previously committed.

ASV whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;

FBV God openly presented Jesus as the gift that brings peace to those trusting in him, the one who shed his blood. God did this to demonstrate he is truly good and right, for previously he would hold back and pass over sins,

TCENT whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith, by his blood. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins that had previously been committed.

T4T God showed that Christ was the one who would atone for (OR, forgive) our sins with the blood that flowed from his body when he died. God redeems/forgives us because of our trusting in Christ’s having died for us. God wanted to show that he acts justly. He wanted to do that because, before Jesus came, God did not punish everyone who sinned. So it seemed as though he was not being just. But he was overlooking people’s sins during that time,
