Davids längtan är att få omgärdas och präglas av Guds närvaro och helighet, se vers 13 och Ps 28:2; 65:5; 84:5; 134:1. Ordet för ljuvlighet är hebr. noam som har en innebörd av nåd – där dess fullhet, välvillighet och välbehag betonas i kombination med favör. Det är här första gången det används, av totalt sju gånger i GT. I vers 4-6 används fyra synonymer: hus, tempel, hydda och boning.]
