[Platsen där de var samlade specificeras inte mer än att ”huset” anges i vers 2. Jesus hade sagt till dem att inte lämna Jerusalem, se Apg 1:4, så de var någonstans i staden. De hade för vana att träffas i den övre salen, se Apg 1:13. I GT är ”huset” en vanlig benämning på templet i Jerusalem, se Jos 6:24; 1 Sam 1:7; 1 Kung 6:1; Ps 23:6. Senare i Apg 7:47 används också termen så. Om de inte var i templet så var de i alla fall nära, eftersom folket var samlade där under högtiden klockan nio på morgonen för den första bönen, se Apg 2:6, 15. Utgrävningar vid södra ingången av templet visar hur det fanns en stor mängd stora bassänger, miqveh på hebreiska. Innan en pilgrim gick in i templet krävdes ett reningsbad i en sådan dopgrav. Om platsen är i någon av pelarhallarna eller vid någon av templets ingångar förklarar det praktiskt hur 3 000 personer kunde höra Petrus predika och senare bli döpta, se Apg 2:41.]
