KJV (66 books) 18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
AFINT (Exp US) 18So then, to summarize the comparison: just as through one trespass—Adam’s sin—the result of condemnation came upon all humanity, so also through one act of righteousness—Christ’s obedient life and death—the gift of justification that brings life came to all who believe. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man, Adam, the many were constituted and made sinners in God’s sight, so also through the obedience of the One, Jesus Christ, the many who believe will be constituted and made righteous before God.
AFINT (Exp UK) 18So then, to summarise the comparison: just as through one trespass—Adam’s sin—the result of condemnation came upon all humanity, so also through one act of righteousness—Christ’s obedient life and death—the gift of justification that brings life came to all who believe. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man, Adam, the many were constituted and made sinners in God’s sight, so also through the obedience of the One, Jesus Christ, the many who believe will be constituted and made righteous before God.
AFINT (Lit US) 18So then, as through one trespass, condemnation came to all men, so also through one act of righteousness, justification of life came to all men. 19For as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One, the many will be made righteous.
ASV 18So then as through one trespass the judgment came unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness the free gift came unto all men to justification of life. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous.
BSB 18So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
DRA 18Therefore, as by the offence of one, unto all men to condemnation; so also by the justice of one, unto all men to justification of life. 19For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners; so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just.
EMTV 18So then, as through one man's transgression judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19For through the disobedience of one man many were constituted sinners, so also through the obedience of one Man many shall be constituted righteous.
FBV 18Just as one sin brought condemnation on everyone, in the same way one right act gave everyone the opportunity to live right. 19Just as through one man's disobedience many became sinners, in the same way through one man's obedience many are made right with God.
GNV 18Likewise then as by the offence of one, the fault came on all men to condemnation, so by the iustifying of one, the benefite abounded toward all men to the iustification of life. 19For as by one mans disobedience many were made sinners, so by that obedience of that one shall many also be made righteous.
LSV 18So, then, as through one offense to all men [it is] to condemnation, so also through one declaration of “Righteous” [it is] to all men to justification of life; 19for as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the One, will the many be constituted righteous.
NIV (US) 18Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
OJB 18So, then, as through one Averah (transgression) [of Adam] to kol Bnei Adam to harsha'ah (condemnation as guilty), so also through one Mitzvah (righteous or worthy deed) [of Moshiach] to kol Bnei Adam to justification unto Chayei [Olam]. 19For as through the disobedience of the one Adam, the many were made chote'im (sinners), so also through the mishma'at (obedience) of the one Adam, the many will be made tzaddikim (righteous ones).
TCENT 18So then, just as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19For just as many were made sinners through the disobedience of one man, so also many will be made righteous through the obedience of one man.
T4T 18So, because one man, Adam, disobeyed God’s law, that resulted in all people deserving to be punished {that God punish them}. Similarly, because one man, Jesus, acted righteously by obeying God when he died, the result was that God is able to erase the record of all people’s sins and enable them to live eternally. 19It was because one person, Adam, disobeyed God that many/all people became sinners. Similarly, it is because one person, Jesus, obeyed God when he died that the record of many people’s sins will be erased {that he will erase the record of many people’s sins}.
WEB (US) 18So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.
