The LORD Exalts the Humble

(1 Samuel 1:1–8)

Blessed be the name of the LORD

The LORD is exalted over all the nations,

His glory above the heavens.Psa 97:9

Who is like the LORD our God,

the One enthroned on high?Psa 138:6; Isa 57:15

He humbles Himself to behold

the heavens and the earth.

He raises the poor from the dust

and lifts the needy from the dump1Ki 16:2

to seat them with nobles,

with the princes of His people.1Sa 16:12

He settles the barren woman in her home

as a joyful mother to her children.
