모압을 찬양하는 노래를 더는 들을 수 없으리라.
헤스본에서 모압을 해칠 작전을 세우며48:2 헤스본…작전을 세우며 바빌론의 군대가 모압의 북쪽 국경에 있는 헤스본을 함락하고, 거기에서 모압을 칠 작전계획을 세운다는 뜻을 암시하는데, ‘작전을 세운다.’는 말이 히브리어로는 ‘하슈부’로, 헤스본과 발음이 비슷한 것을 이용해 말놀이를 하고 있다.
‘가서 이 민족을 끝장내자.’고 하는구나.

Jamás volverá nadie a jactarse respecto a Moab, pues hay un complot contra la vida de ella. En Hesbón se han trazado planes para destruirla. «Vengan», dicen, «la haremos desaparecer como nación». En Madmén reina el silencio. Luego surgirá contra Joronayin un rumor de batalla, pues todo Moab está siendo aniquilado. Su clamor llegará hasta Zoar.
