Důstojník jeho přání vyhověl. Velitel hovořil s Pavlovým synovcem mezi čtyřma očima. Ten mu řekl: „Židé chystají léčku; zítra tě požádají, abys jim vězně znovu přivedl do velerady, že ho musí ještě důkladněji vyslechnout.

BKR 18A on pojav jej, vedl k hejtmanu a řekl jemu: Vězeň Pavel zavolav mne, prosil, abych tohoto mládence přivedl k tobě, že by měl něco mluvit s tebou.

AFINT (Exp US) 18So the centurion took him to the commander, explaining, “The prisoner Paul asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something significant to tell you.” 19The commander took the young man by the hand, led him aside privately, and asked, “What information do you have for me?” 20The young man explained, “The Jewish leaders have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow, supposedly to conduct a more detailed inquiry into his situation. 21Please do not comply with their request, because more than forty men are waiting in ambush to attack him. They have sworn a sacred oath not to eat or drink until they have murdered him. They are already in position, just waiting for your authorization.”
AFINT (Exp UK) 18So the centurion took him to the commander, explaining, “The prisoner Paul asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something significant to tell you.” 19The commander took the young man by the hand, led him aside privately, and asked, “What information do you have for me?” 20The young man explained, “The Jewish leaders have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow, supposedly to conduct a more detailed inquiry into his situation. 21Please do not comply with their request, because more than forty men are waiting in ambush to attack him. And now they are ready, waiting for your assent.”
ASV 18So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and saith, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and asked me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say to thee. 19And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is it that thou hast to tell me? 20And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul to-morrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him. 21Do not thou therefore yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who have bound themselves under a curse, neither to eat nor to drink till they have slain him: and now are they ready, looking for the promise from thee.
BSB 18So the centurion took him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner sent and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.” 19The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside, and asked, “What do you need to tell me?” 20He answered, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul to the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of acquiring more information about him. 21Do not let them persuade you, because more than forty men are waiting to ambush him. They have bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him; they are ready now, awaiting your consent.”
DRA 18And he taking him, brought him to the tribune, and said: Paul, the prisoner, desired me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath some thing to say to thee. 19And the tribune taking him by the hand, went aside with him privately, and asked him: What is it that thou hast to tell me? 20And he said: The Jews have agreed to desire thee, that thou wouldst bring forth Paul tomorrow into the council, as if they meant to inquire some thing more certain touching him. 21But do not thou give credit to them; for there lie in wait for him more than forty men of them, who have bound themselves by oath neither to eat, nor to drink, till they have killed him: and they are now ready, looking for a promise from thee.
EMTV 18Therefore taking him along, he brought him to the commander and said, “The prisoner Paul, having summoned me, asked me to bring this young man to you, for he has something to tell you.” 19And the commander, taking him by his hand, withdrew to a private place and inquired, “What is it that you have to tell me?” 20And he said, “The Jews have agreed to ask that tomorrow you bring Paul down to the Sanhedrin, as though they are going to learn something more accurate concerning him. 21Therefore you must not be persuaded by them; for more than forty of them are lying in wait for him, who have bound themselves by a curse neither to eat nor to drink until they have killed him; and now they are prepared, waiting for the promise from you.”
FBV 18So the centurion took Paul's nephew and brought him to the commander and told him, “The prisoner Paul called me over and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.” 19The commander took the young man by the hand and drew him aside. “What do you have to tell me?” he asked quietly. 20“The Jews have arranged to ask you to bring Paul to the council tomorrow, as if they wanted to ask more detailed questions about his case,” he explained. 21“Please don't listen to them, because they have planned to ambush him with more than forty men who have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They're ready right now, waiting for you to agree to the request.”
GNV 18So hee tooke him, and brought him to the chiefe captaine, and saide, Paul the prisoner called mee vnto him, and prayed mee to bring this yong man vnto thee, which hath some thing to say vnto thee. 19Then the chiefe captaine tooke him by the hande, and went apart with him alone, and asked him, What hast thou to shewe me? 20And he saide, The Iewes haue conspired to desire thee, that thou wouldest bring foorth Paul to morow into the Council, as though they would inquire somewhat of him more perfectly: 21But let them not perswade thee: for there lie in waite for him of them, more then fourtie men, which haue bound themselues with a curse, that they will neither eate nor drinke, till they haue killed him: and nowe are they readie, and waite for thy promise.
LSV 18He indeed, then, having taken him, brought him to the chief captain and says, “The prisoner Paul, having called me near, asked [me] to bring to you this young man, having something to say to you.” 19And the chief captain having taken him by the hand, and having withdrawn by themselves, inquired, “What is that which you have to tell me?” 20And he said, “The Jews agreed to request you, that tomorrow you may bring down Paul to the Sanhedrin, as being about to inquire something more exactly concerning him; 21you, therefore, may you not yield to them, for there more than forty men of them lie in wait for him, who cursed themselves—not to eat nor to drink until they kill him, and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you.”
NIV (US) 18So he took him to the commander. The centurion said, “Paul, the prisoner, sent for me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.” 19The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, “What is it you want to tell me?” 20He said: “Some Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about him. 21Don’t give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request.”
NMV 18So he took him, and brought [him] to the chief captain, and said, Sha’ul [desired] the prisoner called me unto [him], and prayed me to bring this young man unto youi, who has something to say unto youi. 19Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went [with him] aside privately, and asked [him], What is that youi have to tell me? 20And he said, The Y’hudim (Judeans) [praised of Yah] have agreed to desire youi that youi would bring down Sha’ul [desired] tomorrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. 21But do not youi yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from youi.
OJB 18So the centurion took the bochur and brought him to the tribune and says, The prisoner Rav Sha'ul has summoned me and asked me to bring this bochur to you; he has something to say to you. 19The tribune grasped the bochurʼs hand and drew him aside privately, inquiring, What is it you have to report to me? 20And the bochur said, The Judeans agreed to ask you to bring Rav Sha'ul down machar (tomorrow) to the Sanhedrin as if intending to inquire something more accurate concerning him. 21Therefore, you should not be persuaded by them, for more than arba'im anashim are lying in wait for him and these took a shevu'ah upon themselves neither to eat nor to drink until they have assassinated him, and now they are ready, waiting for your consent.
RV 18So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and saith, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and asked me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say to thee. 19And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is that thou hast to tell me? 20And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul tomorrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him. 21Do not thou therefore yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves under a curse, neither to eat nor to drink till they have slain him: and now are they ready, looking for the promise from thee.

They will say that they want to ask him some more questions. But that is not true. 21Do not do what they ask you (sg) to do, because there are more than 40 Jewish men who will be hiding and waiting to attack Paul when he passes by on the way to the Council. They even promised/vowed to God that they will not eat or drink anything until they have killed Paul. They are ready to do it, and right now they are waiting for you (sg) to agree to do what they are asking you to do.”
WEB (US) 18So he took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said, “Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you.
