Den 14 mil långa landvägen tar nästan tre dagar att gå. Det dröjer alltså omkring fem dagar innan församlingsledningen från Efesos kommer ner till Paulus. Dessa ledare representerade troligen inte bara församlingen i Efesos utan där var även representanter från flera av alla de församlingar som startats i Mindre Asien, se Apg 19:10.]
