Troligast är dock att det är en förutsägelse av nästa händelse en vecka senare, då tre av lärjungarna får se en glimt av Jesus i hans härlighet i hans rike, se Matt 17:1-8. Det kan knappast vara en förutsägelse om Jesu andra tillkommelse, eftersom Jesus aldrig gjorde anspråk på att veta tiden för detta, se Matt 24:36. Vid himmelsfärden pressade lärjungarna honom på svar om när han skulle upprätta riket, men Jesus ber dem att hellre fokusera på att vara använda här och nu, se Apg 1:6-8.]
