BKR Kdož věří v Syna Božího, máť svědectví sám v sobě. Kdož pak nevěří Bohu, lhářem jej učinil; nebo neuvěřil tomu svědectví, kteréž vysvědčil Bůh o Synu svém.

SNC [5:10–12] Kdo tedy věří v Ježíše jako v Božího Syna, dává Bohu za pravdu. Kdo Bohu nevěří, dělá z něho lháře, protože odmítá svědectví Otce o Synu. Kdo přijímá toto svědectví, stojí na prahu věčného života. Dveře nám otevřel Boží Syn. Bez něho se dovnitř nedostaneme.
