[Skillnaden mellan vishet och kunskap är att vishet handlar om hur kunskap ska appliceras i en viss situation. Ord av vishet handlar ofta om hur konflikter ska lösas och skapa enhet vilket betonas i föregående verser, se vers 4-6. Ett exempel på ord av vishet är när Salomo fick fram vem som var barnets verkliga mor i en vårdnadstvist, se 1 Kung 3:16-28. Flera exempel finns i Apostlagärningarna där ord av vishet hjälper till att strukturera upp matutdelningen och senare hur Jakobs ord löser en stor konflikt, se Apg 6:2-4; 15:19-22. Exempel på ord av kunskap är när Jesus ber Petrus att gå ner till sjön där han vet att en fisk kommer att ha ett silvermynt i sin mun som de ska använda till tempelskatten, se Matt 17:24-27. Andra exempel är när Jesus talar till Natanael och till kvinnan vid brunnen, se Joh 1:47-48; 4:16.]
