Prisa Herren (Jahveh) från jorden: [Haven:] Ni stora havsdjur (sjömonster) och alla djup. [Direkt efter att den jordiska domänen har presenterats nämns två termer: tanninim och tehomot. Istället för att följa den mer vanliga uppdelningen i tre delar med hav, jord och himmel, ingår haven och djupen i det jordiska. Hebreiska tanninim är samma ord som används i skapelsen om de stora havsdjuren, se 1 Mos 1:21. Ordet används även i samband med Leviatan och har mytologiska undertoner som beskriver det okända och även ondska, se Ps 74:13-14; 104:26; Job 3:8; 39:20-40:25; Upp 12:3. Det andra hebreiska ordet som är översatt ”djup”, är samma ord som används i 1 Mos 1:2. Det kan syfta på allt skapat i havet, se 1 Mos 1:20.]
