Mina tider (hela mitt liv – min framtid) är i dina händer. [Uttrycket är parallellt med vers 6 ”i din hand lägger jag min ande”. Hela mitt liv ligger i Guds hand, och han avgör min framtid. Ordet ”tider” används även i uttrycket ”tider av brist” under belägring, se Ps 9:10. Även ökenperioder är tidsbestämda. Det används också i Ps 1:3 om att bära frukt i ”rätt tid”. Det hebreiska ordet översätts med det grekiska ordet kairos som, till skillnad från chronos som beskriver mätbar tid, handlar om en speciell tid och ett avgörande tillfälle som förändrar situationen.
